Default What other games do you play?

I am currently boored and decided to attempt to figure out how many GW players play other, non-video games.

My question is, how many of you play tabletop dungeons and dragons, or Magic the Gathering. List other RPG/CCG's if you wish.

My gaming list is:

RPG

Dungeons and Dragons (3/3.5 edditions, 6 years, have experiance with 1st and 2nd ed.)

BESM D20 (have played it a small ammount, and will play it again if we ever get a campain going)

Shadowrun (4th eddition, just started)

Vampire, the Requiem (newest version of Vampire, the Masquarade, by White Wolf, just started)

CCG

Magic the Gathering (11-12 years)

Have tried various other CCG's, found them all to be absolute crap, including Lord of the Rings, Warlord, Pokemon (sadly, but stopped within a month), Yo-Gi-Oh (once again, sadly, but stopped withen one week, before it ever became popular), and a few others which I can no longer remember their names.

Slightly curious if anyone knows why this thread now has moved in front of it, as I seem to remember posting it in riverside, exactly where it was "moved" to.

Due to not being able to get to my GM... haven't played that much but loved (and many many hours in to..)

Marvel Super Herores -> the OLD TSR (Pre Wizards of the Coast) using the 'chart' on the back of the book, the rare ultimate powers book with 1/2 the rules thrown out. Fast pace, fits any comic style
http://www.classicmarvel.com/ (includes downloads)

and

A very well great sci-fi setting would be Fadding Suns (non-d20). It manages to give you an open ended, well defined settings that set in far future that had an "DND" Adventure feel to it. They also have a d20 version.. http://www.holistic-design.com/introFS.htm

I've not seen a sci-fi setting as well set / well thought out as Fadding Suns. Give you an example, the "players campaing book" which for most is additional rules and such, but FS is 90% backgroud.. aka A day in the life of X type of character and a typical day ... over 30 different types / social circles with some new add-on rules in the back. It give you such a diverse and example on ways to play differnet character types well beyond "normal" over used types.

You aren't going to get many responses when you open your post by telling people you probably won't care about their responses unless they match yours.

But assuming you didn't mean it as harshly as you worded it, I'll bite.

Currently playing Mutants and Masterminds 2e (superfantastic fun super hero game) and Exalted (epic kung fu fantasy).

In rotation are Tribe 8 (post-apocalyptic dark fantasy), Legend of the Five Rings (Japanese-themed fantasy), Armageddon 2e (end of the world angels, demons, immortals, gods and witches), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (yep, it has a tabletop RPG), and yes, Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 on occasion.

We used to play a lot of Rage back in the day, but most of us can't keep up with CCGs these days and Rage is a dead game anyway.

I ran MnM for about a year and a half. But not doing anything with it now.
I ran Champions for a decade and a half but got sick of it. Still like the game engine for other genres though.

I played DnD 3.x from when it came out to 2005 somewhere, but got sick of thee 'gamism' aspects. Levels and classes work great for a video game, and are probably ideal for how most people prefer the 'game side of an rpg,' but just got on my nerves too much.

I've been around GURPS since it was still called 'The Fantasy Trip', but 4e just reminded why I usually play Hero system instead.

I've got a bunch of Magic the Gathering cards, and formed a casual adult group a few years back, but it merged with another group that I'd left because they were too 'hardcore' and everyone else went the way of 'sealed decks and training for tournaments' and I just wanted to 'toss cards around and talk politics' for a few hours every so often.

I've tried Shadowrun first through third, but I find its premise doesn't make any sense even within the context of fantasy-punk. Love the game system, but not the setting - putting me in the opposite position from most of its fans. Bought fourth edition anyway...

Cyberpunk went from being a game all about cybers and punks and missing any reference to cyberpunk to being a game best labeled as 'Team America; The RPG'...

Ex Machina seems the most hopeful entry for the cyber-genre, though damage scores are so low it is impossible, even on a critcal hit, to kill with a pistol - but damage is also very easy to scale up to a desired level, and so I wrote my own cyber setting with this system in mind.

I've got BESM d20, and if I had to do something DnD like, that would be my desired choice. But for some reason most people I meet look it as if it was full of furry-porn and not anime, let alone a new take on DnD (it has no furry porn by the way, and is one of the most PG-rated RPGs out there, but the reactions I get to pulling it out remind of the reactions I see whenever somebody mentions a furry-RPG).

Right now I'm on a long term hiatus from table top RPGs. No idea if I will go back to them any time soon.

None of the Pen-and-paper or card stuff, and I do have to agree with some of the above posters. At any rate, I have played other RPG's besides GW: Oblivion, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Jade Empire, Fable, Asheron's Call, Rising Force Online, and EQ 1.

Non-PC Games I play:

-Dungeons & Dragons PnP since the early 1980's
-Billiards/Pool - nice playing cue to boot!
-Bowling (on/off)
-Magic the Gathering/Addiction... playing since Unlimited/Arabians, uber collection (P9's + other power stuff old and new). The current Dissentions set is JUNK.
-Other board games too old to list

PC Games I've gone thru:
-Guildwars (duh)
-Quake4
-UT2004
-Neverwinter Nights (all expansions)
-other older games not worth mentioning (StarCraft, Diablo1+2, EQ1, etc...)

These are ones I used to play. Jedi Outcast 2, Americas Army, Tribes, Call Of Duty and Call Of Duty 2, and Knights Of The Old Republic.

Ones I still play. Guild Wars, Counter Strike and Condition Zero. I really like online games.

I like Ravnica block for the story line behind it and the guilds. Cards = not so good. It started a while back and got realy bad with Mirroden block, and you can now legaly break nearly every rule in the game with what they have printed, so aside from ravnica block, I no longer play with anything past tempest block. And I am a veteran player - started sometime around revised, about 12 years of play behind me. Currently trying to rebuild my old collection.

TCG's - MT:G, YGO, Pokemons, DBZ, VS

Board - Very very little DnD

PC Games - CS:S (little), GW, Oblviion (little), KOTOR, Halo, COD, COD2, BF 1942, BF2, etc....

Console Games - Final Fantasies, some other RPG's, Halo 2 addiction at one point. Got sick of Halo 2 after alittle while though and used my skill / knowlage of computers to annoy people and keep from getting cheated. I bridged host, so that I couldn't be stand byed and when I got modded I forced the modders out of the game..... Although some consider protecting yourself from cheaters, cheating. I did not use it to my own advantage as in booting till I got to a level.

As that is just sad.... As it stands I can't prove that, and so my 42 is sometimes speculated as being a cheated to level. Usually by the people who I could stomp at the game, which is really sad.

Even I haven't gone well past Oblivion, I did close the first Oblivion gate in the main quest, but it's hard fighting in close quarters when you're a Wood Elf and your specialty is Marksmanship.
